About The Event
Kids/Teens Summer Cooking Series
What Your Child/Teen Will Learn
Your child will learn to be more confident in the kitchen. This four series workshop concentrates on cooking basics and farm-to-table. Over four intensive classes, our chef instructor will get you acquainted with the kitchen—from chopping veggies and cooking proteins to creating sauces, sides and desserts.
Kids cooking classes offer numerous benefits including nutrition education, life skills development such as following instructions and problem-solving, fostering creativity and cultural awareness through exploring diverse cuisines, building confidence, enhancing fine motor skills and social bonds, providing practical learning opportunities for math and science concepts, promoting stress relief and mindfulness, and encouraging independence. By engaging in cooking activities, children develop a range of skills essential for their holistic development while also cultivating a lifelong appreciation for food and cooking. We are unique at Farm Fusion, not only do we have a kitchen in a barn, but we have a full, functioning garden and livestock. Students will have the chance to gather ingredients, say hello to the chickens, cows and horses, and then come inside to prepare their dishes.
Class times are from 11:00 AM - 1:30 PM - parents are welcome to stay, or can drop off and be texted the exact time to pick up.
Dates for this series:
July 2, 9, 16, and 23
Once purchased, tickets are non-refundable (even if your child becomes ill or has something come up and cannot attend- no exceptions). Classes build on each other which makes it essential to attend all 4 classes. If it would be difficult to attend all 4 classes, consider signing up for an individual event.
Some allergies can be accomodated and recipes could be slightly modified. However, we are unable to entirely deviate from the published menu without adversely affecting the experience of other students. We are happy to craft a private class with you and customize according to dietary restrictions and allergies.
