No experience necessary for this hands-on class learning the basics of cooking. We will have a total of three classes, back-to-back to learn how to be a master in the kitchen. Everything from knife skills, to sauces, to protein cooking, you will feel more confident- all ingredients locally sourced

What You Will Learn
Cooking Class Description:
Learn to be more confident in the kitchen. This three series workshop concentrates on cooking basics and farm-to-table. Over three intensive classes, our chef instructor will get you acquainted with the kitchen—from chopping veggies and cooking proteins to creating sauces, sides and desserts. Along the way, you’ll master essential skills and become the competent, confident cook you’ve always wanted to be. You must commit to three classes.
What To Expect: Great cooking is about more than recipes—it's about techniques. Being in control of how you prepare meals and the ingredients you use can lead to better health. Not to mention, cooking at home can be a way to relax, be creative, or spend time with loved ones. In this class you'll work together with other students in a fun, hands-on environment led by our chef instructor. Classes are 2 to 2 1/2 hours, unless otherwise noted above You will work with other students in groups of 2-4. Hands-on classes are limited to 10 students You will be standing, cooking and working for most of the class Please wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes and have long hair tied back
Menu (all ingredients are sourced from local farms and are subject to change):
Week one- The Basics:
- Knife skills 101
- 7 Basic Methods of Cooking Vegetables
- Chopping/Steaming/Boiling/Sautéing/ marinating/roasting/quick pickling
- Fresh garden pico de gallo served with home made tortilla crisps
- Sautéed Kale with garlic (different varieties)
- Roasted turkey meatball sliders with pickled veggies and homemade aioli
Week two- Mastering Cooking Techniques
- Pan roasted chicken with white wine sauce or a garden fresh chimichurri
- Perfect rice pilaf
- Grilled vegetables
- Homemade lemon ricotta (to be used in week 3)
Week three- The Sweet Finale
- Garlci butter shrimp scampi
- Lemon and sugar homemade crepes
- Raspberry blintzes made with homemade ricotta
